I'm plagued with the dilemma of finding what is called in the self employed world, my "target audience". I have numerous contacts in my community which involves networks, social media, personal friends, acquaintances, family members etc., but very few of these contacts actually lead to sales or even real interest in my wares. The bottom line is that these contacts of mine find little value in my services. Whose fault is that?
The disinterest in my services has little to do with their lack of money because they have money for a new phone, dinner out, a cable subscription or to rent a couple of movies every weekend. So how is it they will spend bags of money on some items but nothing on something else?
It's all in the marketing. Starbucks wants you to think their coffee is the best and that's how they package it so to you it's worth the value of what they want you to pay regardless of the quality of the coffee itself.
It's therefore my responsibility to communicate the value of my services and how I package it is perceived as value.
